The Gare du Nord is the hub for trips leaving for or arriving
from London on the Eurostar. With Thalys the Gare du Nord also
serves all of Northern Europe. Along with the local and national
train lines this station is always a bustling beehive of activity.
Make sure you arrive well in advance to catch your train.
From the above map you'll see that the Gare de l'Est is within
walking distance (although you can take the bus or metro to get
there). Just follow the "green broken line" on the map.
A brand new station has been inaugurated adjacent to the Gare du
Nord. The Gare Magenta which is on the latest RER line called "Eole".
This line departs from St Lazare and serves the expanding Eastern
Parisian suburbs. It is directly accessible from within the Gare du
Nord. Just follow the signs for RER "E".
The Gare Magenta which
connects to Gare de l'Est will play a big role in the construction of the TGV
East which will speed you to Strasbourg and the Eastern French
Regions.
