In the Tarentaise, Val d'Isère shares Espace Killy with neighbouring Tignes. This area is justly known as the most beautiful skiing area in the world. The area marked out with banners and the off-piste area are immense and of a rare quality. With its natural environment and traditional architecture, Val d'Isère is also one of the most beautiful resorts in France. This is a resort of high standing with well-off customers (30% English). Val d'Isère : 70 slopes (150 km + 20 km Cross-country skiing )
Green ski slope for Learners. These are usually not marked trails, but tend to be large open, gently sloping areas at the base of the ski area.  21 slopes Blue ski slope are Easy. Similar to the North American Green Circle, and are almost always groomed, or on so shallow a slope as not to need it  25 slopes Red ski slopes are Intermediate. Steeper, or narrower than a blue slope, these are usually groomed, unless the narrowness of the trail prohibits it  19 slopes Black ski slopes are Difficult. Steep, may or may not be groomed, or may be groomed for mogul. It is worth noting that 'Black' can be a very wide classification, ranging from a slope marginally more difficult than a 'Red' to an icy mogulfield  5 slopes
