Les Portes du Soleil  
Champéry is linked to the French-Swiss Portes du Soleil ski area. It is also the main resort in this area. This means more than 600 km of ski slopes for holidaymakers and however much or little they are used, they ensure good snow conditions as well as being satisfactory to all skiers. However we must emphasize that the Champéry ski area as such can be rather difficult for beginners. Après-ski tends to be rather more for families, so night birds will have few pickings. Green ski slope for Learners. These are usually not marked trails, but tend to be large open, gently sloping areas at the base of the ski area.   slopes Blue ski slope are Easy. Similar to the North American Green Circle, and are almost always groomed, or on so shallow a slope as not to need it   slopes Red ski slopes are Intermediate. Steeper, or narrower than a blue slope, these are usually groomed, unless the narrowness of the trail prohibits it   slopes Black ski slopes are Difficult. Steep, may or may not be groomed, or may be groomed for mogul. It is worth noting that 'Black' can be a very wide classification, ranging from a slope marginally more difficult than a 'Red' to an icy mogulfield   slopes
